Syllabus:
Nutrition of fish, shrimp and other animals of importance for aquaculture. Food chains. Anatomy and physiology of the digestive tract and attraction of animals to food. Nutrients and their digestibility. Nutritional requirements (proteins and amino acids, lipids and fatty acids, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals) for fish and shrimp. Characterization of food used in aquaculture. Formulation and production of feed for different groups of aquatic animals. Feeding strategies and special diets for the maturation, larviculture and growth out phases of fish and shrimp.
