Syllabus:
Situation of production of bivalve molluscs in the world and in Brazil. Main species created. Care in the implantation of mollusc breeds. Types of breeding structures. Criteria for selecting areas. Obtaining seeds. Management and fattening. Breeding and maintenance of breeders. Growth analysis and condition index. Debug. Commercialization.

General
Objectives:
At the end of the Course, the student should be able to identify the main problems, advantages and disadvantages related to the implementation and operation of systems for the creation of marine bivalve molluscs, as well as to guide their formulation and operationalization.

Specific:
- Show and discuss the importance and problems and care with the implementation of mollusc breeding projects;
- Know the different production systems in the world, relating them to the characteristics of production in Brazil;
- Understand the importance of knowledge of the mechanisms of reproduction and feeding of bivalve molluscs for their creation;
- Know technically the production methods of larvae and seeds of marine bivalve molluscs;
- Know the appropriate methods for handling and fattening marine bivalve molluscs.
- Discuss aspects of mollusk processing, industrialization and commercialization.
