Dr Luis Henrique da Silva Poersch

Graduated in Oceanology from the Federal University of Rio Grande (1993), master's degree in Ciencias del Mar - Universidad Católica del Norte (1998), doctorate in Biological Oceanography from the Federal University of Rio Grande (2004) and post-doctorate in the Department of Natural Resources - South Carolina (USA).

He is currently an adjunct professor at the Institute of Oceanography at the Federal University of Rio Grande (FURG), where he works as a professor in Oceanology, Biology courses and the Aquaculture Postgraduate program. He has experience in the area of ​​Fishery Resources and Biological Oceanography, with an emphasis on Carcinoculture, acting mainly on the following themes: shrimp farming, social and environmental impact of aquaculture, wastewater treatment, multi-trophic crops (fish, shrimp and mollusks), and cultivation in alternative structures for artisanal fishermen and rural producers.
